Florida ACA Intergroup

Our common welfare should come first, personal recovery depends on ACA unity.

Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families (ACA), is as an international 12 Step-12 Tradition program of recovery for adults who grew up in alcoholic or dysfunctional homes. ACA is based on the belief that the disease of alcoholism and family dysfunction infected us as children and continues to affect us as adults.

Florida State ACA Intergroup came to order on January 25, 2014. We represent the ACA meetings in the state of Florida. It is our goal to maintain communication with these meetings for the purpose of preserving steps, traditions and concepts of the program and helping the adult child find the program who has not yet done so.

Outreach is the primary function of Intergroup. We have formed a committee that will reach out to meetings that already exist, educate health care professionals about our program, provide information about the program to everyone who has grown up in a dysfunctional home.

If you are interested in helping Florida State ACA Intergroup, please fill out the form on the ‘Service’ tab of this website. You may also contact us at 954-763-2332 or email Florida.State.ACA.Intergroup@gmail.com. There are many things you can to do help the adult child who still suffers. Let us know what you would like to do and we will help you do it.

We receive no funds from any government agency, or public or private entity. Our services are made possible by the voluntary contributions of our members. The only requirement for membership, is the desire to recover from the affects of family addiction or dysfunction. If you are a member or group of Adult Children of Alcoholics and would like to help support our services, please use our paypal link.

Our program becomes stronger when our groups are represented by an Intergroup that actively participates in community outreach. Our 12 Step work suggests that we seek out adult children who are not aware of our program. The Intergroup helps coordinate helpline functions, public information efforts, hospitals and institutions meetings, and ACA events in a given area.

This is our website with all meetings and maps to find them, information about the program, opportunities for service and information about program events.
